Nuclear Transparency Watch was actively involved in the EURAD-2 annual event held in Dublin (8.-10. September 2026), highlighting the critical role of Civil Society (CS) and next-generation perspectives in radioactive waste management.
Key highlights of our participation and contribution:
-
PEP Climate Session: introduction led by Yves Lheureux and Kevin Deniset, followed by a hands-on session of the Pathway Evaluation Process (PEP Climate) involving over 30 participants in interactive discussions.
-
Civil Society Engagement: active participation of CS experts, ensuring that independent expertise and public perspective remain central to EURAD-2 governance and discussions.
- Brilliant presentation by Tim Knowles during the morning session titled “Closing the Fuel Cycle and Enabling a Circular Economy:
Myth or Opportunity?” -
-
Next-Generation Perspectives: participation in the panel dedicated to the role of young generations within EURAD, addressing how to empower early-career profiles and enhance their involvement (illustrated by Anne-Charlotte’s graphic facilitation).
A big thank you to all participants, moderators, and CS experts for these constructive exchanges !
